"Optimizing Location for Decision Making'
The Kenya WEBGIS Mapping platform give users the opportunity to obtain Kenya geographic data in simple steps.
This involve defining the Area of Interest [AOI] and using the QueryAI tool to query the map and populate the defined area with the respective dataset.
Example 1: To find the schools data in an area of interest.
1.1 Define the AOI
1.2 Use QueryAI to Populate the AOI
Example 2: To find Farming Types data in area of interest (Mumbuni Location)
Use the QueryAI tool to populate Mumbuni Location on the map. A new Layer representing Mumbuni is automatically created on the layer pane as the AOI.
The QuerryAI tool is employed again to populate the defined AOI layer with the Farming Types data.
2.1 Use QueryAI to define Mumbuni Location as AOI
2.2 Use QueryAI to Populate the AOI with the Farming Types dataset.
The Mumbuni map beside is a Topographic Map generated from Kenya WEBGIS QueryAI platform making use of the Farming type data and other datasets obtained from the procedures as stated in the Example 2 above).
The datasets included in the map are:
Contour lines_30m
River system data
Road network data
Schools data
Health Facilities
Farming Type data
Mumbuni Location
The map is complete with basic element requirement.
Kenya WEBGIS Platform hosts a series of Kenya administrative data layers.
These include:
National boundary dataset
Regional datasets
Counties dataset
Constituency datasets [Enriched]
County Wards [Enriched]
Location dataset
Sub-Location dataset
All the datasets have pre-configured Pop-Ups and are geo-enabled.
Use the QuerryAI tool to find the administrative area of interest.
Find:
Sub Location of interest
Location of interest
County of interest
All sub locations in a given location
All sub locations in a given county
All sub locations in a given Region
All locations in a given county
Use the selected area of interest, add more data by checking the layers, and design a map.
Use the QueryAI tool to query the platform and populate a selected area of interest with lakes and wetlands data.
From the map select an area of interest, Use the QueryAI tool and populate a selected area with lakes and wetlands
The QueryAI tool can query the platform and populate a selected area of interest with rivers data.
Example, From the map select a county of interest. Click the QueryAI tool to populate the selected county with River's data.
Using the QueryAI tool, query the map to populate a drawn or a mapped area with the contour lines 10m data.
Example, map a Sub-Location of interest and query the map to populate all the contour lines_10m within the sub location.
Using the QueryAI tool, query the map to populate a drawn or a mapped area with the contour lines 30m data.
Example, map a Sub-Location of interest and query the map to populate all the contour lines_30m within the sub location.
The QueryAI tool can query the platform and populate a selected area of interest with average rainfall data.
From the map select a county of interest. Click the QueryAI tool to populate the county with average rainfall data.
Using the QueryAI tool, query the map to populate a drawn or a mapped area with the roads data.
Use the QueryAI tool to map a county of interest. The QueryAI can further query the map to populate all the roads within the county.
Using the drawing tools, draw a point, line or polygon in an area of interest. Create buffer if needed.
Click the QueryAI tool to query the map and to populate the drawn area with the school's data.
Use the QueryAI tool to select an administrative area of interest.
Click the QueryAI tool once again to query the map and to populate the selected area with the health facilities data.
The platform can generate tree species data within a given area.
Example, Use the QueryAI tool to search for a sublocation of interest.
Use the QueryAI tool to populate the selected sublocation with Tree species data.
The platform can generate forest cover data within a selected area.
Example, Use the QueryAI tool to search for a sublocation of interest.
If the selected area has forest, the QueryAI tool populates the selected sublocation with forest cover data.
Using the drawing tools, draw a point, line or polygon in an area of interest. Create buffer if needed.
Click the QueryAI tool to query the map. If the area has water towers, it populates in the drawn area with the water towers data.
Use the QueryAI tool to select an administrative area of interest.
Click the QueryAI tool to query the map. If the selected area has protected areas, it is populated with Protected cover data.
Which forest covers are gazetted or not gazetted in Kenya? Using the drawing tools, draw a point, line or polygon in an area of interest.
If the area has forest cover, the QueryAI tool populate the drawn area with gazetted and/or non gazetted forests.
What farming types are practiced in different parts of Kenya? Using the drawing tools, draw a point, line or polygon in an area of interest
Click the QueryAI tool to query and to populate the selected area with the farming type data and a list of crops grown.
Using the drawing tools, draw a point, line or polygon in an area of interest. Create buffer if needed.
Click the QueryAI tool to query the map and to populate the drawn area with the soil type data.
Use the QueryAI tool to select an administrative area of interest.
Click the QueryAI tool to query the map and to populate the selected area with the Topo sheet map series data.
Kenya WEBGIS QueryAI Tool has been trained to Query Kenya WEBGIS map service to seamlessly extract and populate the ldma_2018 data in pre-defined polygon, point or line.
The QueryAI tool accurately aligns or clips the Land Degradation Monitoring & Assessment dataset to the polygons, lines or points such as counties, rivers or health facilities.
To obtain the dataset, select the LDMA_2018 layer in the layer pane or use the QueryAI tool to explore and populate the data in the AOI.
The data can be exported or utilized in professional map designing.
Using the QueryAI tool, query the platform to populate the Lapertuk sublocation as the AOI.
As the AOI is populated on the map, it's layer is created on the layer pane.
Once again, Use the QueryAI tool to populate the created Layer of interest with LDMA_2018_s1 data.
The LDMA QueryAI tool populates the AOI with the ldma_data.
